I contribute my time at the Ave because the youth are the future and they must know what's going on in our city and this world. This fight doesn't end with us and they'll have to carry the torch in their own way. I'm just here to offer guidance and a pair of oven gloves so they don't get burned catching and carrying that fire.

One collab that I am proud of is my book of poetry being included in the 2020 Summer Teen Fellowship curriculum that I serve as a program coordinator and mentor in. A lot of the youth were drawn to it and could heavily resonate with it. That was my main reason for publishing my poetry in the first place. Creativity that is evergreen that inspires others and to let the other butterflies know that they are not on the journey alone.

The same summer I also collaborated on a young organizer training series at The Avenue in support of Black Lives Matter movement and protesting. Many of the same youth participated and they were all so damn inquisitive, rich soil soaking up all the nutrients! That turned into them being involved in protests and demonstrations. It was so fulfilling to watch them leading chants and organizing actions of their own passion.
