I got involved at The Ave just from fortunately knowing Reenah for so long. As a high school student, she came to my school so I knew firsthand her commitment to working with young people. I love that Reenah opened this space to welcome so many collaborations. These collaborations range from ones I am proud to have been heavily involved in like, the Causewave initiative on race and media to 2nd Sunday Storytime where I join in to read with or be read to by young readers. I can’t wait to see how the Avenue Blackbox theater continues to grow and thrilled to be a part of that growth!
